Join us for our Barn Quilt Painting Party!
The Star City Library will host Barn Quilt Painting classes for adults and teens ages14 & up in partnership with Ms. Cathy Edmonds as instructor, starting with the first session on Tuesday, September 3rd, 6-8 pm. The project will be completed in three more painting classes on September 17th, September 24th, and October 3rd as the finishing event. Participants will complete a Barn Quilt Painting of their choice on a wooden 2'x2' (24"x24") panel which can be hung inside or outside. The class series has a supply fee of $40 per person which covers all materials: 2'x2' wooden panel, acrylic paint, painter's tape, brushes, and other painting utensils needed for the project. Registration for this class series is required and those interested can register in person at hte Star City Library or call the library at 870-628-4711. The deadline for payments in cash or check is August 23rd at the Star City Library prior to class start. The classes are limited to 20 participants and spots will only be guaranteed when supply payment is received. Participants can also mail a check to the library to 200 E Wiley St, Star City, AR 71667. Please make checks payable to "Cathy Edmonds" and include your name and "Barn Quilt Class" on a note if you mail in your payment.
During the first painting class on September 3rd, painters will select their pattern and colors from a variety of barn quilt options, before moving on to the base color. Ms. Cathy Edmonds will explain the project and supply step-by-step instructions throughout the whole project for the class to follow along. No painting experience or special artistic skills are required to participate.
